Affise Performance

Written by Natalya Yefimenko

If you manage your affiliate program via the Affise Performance platform, you can easily integrate with Affise MMP and build your operations within the same tracking ecosystem.

The flow is the following:

  • You add a partner and set up tracking links

  • You set up an offer in Affise Performance

  • You set up postbacks and event mapping

Add partner and prepare tracking links

There are three types of scenarios to work with partners: you create one Affise Performance partner and receive all traffic under a single Affise MMP partner ID, you receive traffic directly from Affise Performance partners with Affise Performance partners IDs, and/or you work with partners in both systems simultaneously.

Scenario 1: Add Affise Performance single partner

If you want a simple integration and attribute all traffic to one Affise MMP partner ID, do the following:

1. In Campaigns > Partners, click Add new partner.

2. Specify Affise Performance as a partner name (or you can name it anyway to recognize that you receive traffic from Affise Performance).

3. Adjust other settings if necessary and click Create.

🔎 Read more about how to add a partner here.

4. In the partner list (Campaigns > Partners), you can select the necessary application and copy tracking URL.

5. Prepare a tracking URL for the Affise Performance offer or use it as it is.

⚠️ By default, the tracking URL contains the partner ID of Affise MMP. If you need to distinguish traffic further from Affise Performance by partner IDs from Affise Performance, add &affise_siteid={pid}.

To get additional information via the click tracking URL, use additional Affise MMP parameters and match them with Affise Performance macros.

Base tracking URL example:
https://trk.affattr.com/ZHWA3A54XRC00?clickid={clickid}&pid=2&affise_siteid={pid}

Scenario 2: Work with Affise Performance partners directly

If you want to attribute all traffic to Affise Performance partner IDs directly, do the following:

1. Get the tracking URL for the necessary application.

a. If you have no partners in the partner list, in Campaigns > Partners, click Add new partner and create a test partner just to be able to get the tracking URL.

b. If you already have partners, choose any partner, select the necessary application, and copy the tracking URL.

2. In the Tracking URL, substitute the static value for the pid parameter for the dynamic macro {pid}. This way affiliate IDs from Affise Performance are sent directly to Affise MMP.

Also, you can add additional parameters if necessary.

Base tracking URL example:
https://trk.affattr.com/ZHWA3A54XRC00?clickid={clickid}&pid={pid}

Scenario 3: Work with partners in both systems

If you work with a partner via the Affise Performance directly as described in Scenario 1, but your partner wants to have an agency account to check reports in Affise MMP too, the flow for the traffic to be synced is the following:

1. A partner should register as an agency and add the application via the invite token.

2. Once the partner appears in the partner list, fill in the External ID field with the affiliate ID of this partner from Affise Performance.

This way the partner will keep sending traffic via the Affise Performance tracking link, and you will manage payouts in Affise Performance still, but the partner will be able to check detailed reports in Affise MMP, since the data will be synced.

⚠️ All new traffic gets attributed to Affise MMP partner ID and partner name.

🔎 For such partners who have synced IDs, it's possible to use &external_partner_id={pid} in the tracking URL.

Create an offer in Affise Performance

When Affise MMP tracking links are ready, you need to create an offer in Affise Performance for the needed application.

In the offer, set the Affise MMP tracking URL correctly, add all the needed settings like targeting, caps, etc., and make sure you set up all the needed goals to further receive events from Affise MMP correctly.

🔎 Read more about how to add an offer here.

Set up postbacks and event mapping

Once you set up the Affise Performance offer, you need to set up event mapping in Affise MMP:

1. In Applications > a certain app > Settings, click Add new conversion type.

2. In the Conversion type dropdown list, select the conversion type that you want to send postback for.

⚠️ If you don't have a necessary conversion type for your event in the list, read how to add it here.

3. Add cost if needed.

4. In the Postback URLs field, add a postback link from Affise Performance with the obligatory clickid and goal parameters. For the goal, you are to use the corresponding static goal value from the Affise Performance offer. Also, you can add more parameters from Affise Performance and macros from Affise MMP.

Postback URL example:
http://abc.affise.com/postback?clickid={clickid}&goal=install

🔎 If you need to send subsequent events of the same type and for the same click ID (for example, your user made two subsequent purchases within the same cookie window for the same click ID), add &action_id={affise_event_id} to your postback. Otherwise, Affise Performance will receive a postback, but the conversion will not be registered as a duplicate one.

5. If necessary, set up other options like not sending postbacks with particular click parameters or from particular countries.

🔎 Read more about postback settings here.

6. Test your integration by sending test clicks with the necessary parameters, and send test events to make sure postback sending is working correctly.

⚠️ If you experience issues in getting events in Affise Performance, check Tools (⚙️) > Request data > Collections > Client postback log to see how postbacks are sent and if all the necessary parameters are sent.
